Calgary Airport Parkade

Calgary Airport Parkade

This project was completed in 2010 when high-powered LEDs were first being introduced and the Calgary Airport Authority embraced the concept of reduced energy usage and maintenance costs. The project utilized a quantity of 825 suspended canopy LED luminaires with different lumen packages depending on the parkade level. The energy reduction was 57% of the comparative incumbent technology at the time. Glare control within the parkade was a significant concern due to the placement of the LEDs within the housing. The Calgary Airport Authority was very impressed with the glare control compared to the existing parkade on airport property.
